Notably, Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), the busiest airport in the country, operates over 1,500 flights daily. Since Thursday evening, the air traffic controllers have been unable to automatically receive flight plans due to these technical issues.

According to sources, there are issues with the Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS) that provides information for the Auto Track System (ATS), which supplies flight plans. Due to the ongoing problems with the system, air traffic controllers are manually preparing flight plans based on the available data, a process that is time-consuming and has resulted in numerous flight delays. On Friday morning, over 100 flights were delayed at the airport, and information from the flight tracking website Flightradar24.com indicated that departures from Delhi Airport were delayed by approximately 50 minutes.
